Kirby games tend to release towards the end of a Nintendo platform’s life, offering carefree experiences aimed at a more casual and less-discerning audience. This stance has changed over the years however, with the best example of this being this week’s Kirby Air Riders, launching barely six months into the Switch 2’s lifecycle. While …
The Switch 2 has found itself between two major first-party releases, with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment having just launched and Kirby Air Riders out next Thursday. Things might be patchy on the PS5 and Xbox this winter, but Switch owners are definitely “eating good” – and Metroid Prime 4 is still to come. The …
If you’re looking for something a little different, this week’s line-up of new Switch eShop releases has you covered, with plenty of offbeat curios. There’s a new major Switch 2 release as well, in the form of the Koei Tecmo developed Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment. What began as a mere Dynasty Warriors spin-off has …
The next major Switch 2 release, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, is only a week away. If you’re after something to keep your fingers busy until then, plenty of rotary telephones are available on eBay. Failing that, the Switch 2 gains four new releases this week. Three of these are also available on the original …
The Switch 2 gains four new releases this week. EA’s Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is however available on the original Switch too, which makes sense considering it’s merely a HD remaster of the 2D tactical garden-based battler. Did it need remastering? Probably not, considering the cartoony visuals haven’t aged much. It seems this is just …
Who dares take on a new mainline Pokémon game? Not many publishers, that’s for sure, as it’s a noticeably quieter week than usual for the Switch eShop. Reviews of the Lumiose City set Pokémon Legends: Z-A dropped on Tuesday afternoon, and while it hasn’t gained universal praise, the 81% Metacritic score isn’t something to sniff …
The Switch 2 gains three new releases this week, all of which are reviewing well. Those sticking with the original Switch are well catered for too, making for a week where nobody is left out. Yooka-Replaylee sees the 2017 Banjo-Kazooie inspired 3D platformer retold, featuring more content, new challenges, an extended soundtrack and a bunch …
Nintendo begins to assemble their autumn line-up this week with the release of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Switch and Switch 2. That’s set to be followed by Pokémon Legends: Z-A on 16th October, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment and Kirby Air Riders in November, before ending 2025 with Metroid Prime …
Here comes a new challenger! If it wasn’t for Nintendo’s Switch 2 releases of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Supergiant Games’ roguelite Hades II would be sitting pretty as the highest rated game of 2025, with its current 95% Metacritic score – formed from dozens of 10/10s – leapfrogging both …
It’s an RPG heavy week for the Switch eShop with several time consuming, world saving, adventures due. It’s either the case that publishers were oblivious to one another’s plans, or that the genre is so popular nowadays that there’s the belief all will find an audience. Nihon Falcom’s remake Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter …
The Switch eShop is a ‘cat eat cat world’ this week, with Garfield Kart 2 – All You Can Drift and Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection going head-to-head. Garfield Kart 2 – All You Can Drift comes from Eden Games, creators of the surprisingly good Smurf Kart and the Gear.Club Unlimited series. Eight players can compete …
It’s another busy week for the Switch eShop, with a handful of Switch 2 titles arriving. The next Switch 2 release isn’t until EA Sports FC 26 on 19th Sept, followed by Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac a week later, so it’s a good job there’s plenty to play until then. After being curiously absent at …
News of SEGA rebooting several dormant franchises sent fans into a tizzy in late 2023. Even though screenshots and footage were shown, the first of these announcements has taken two years to materialise. That game being Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, developed by Lizardcube – the team behind Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap and Streets of Rage …
The Switch 2 misses out on new releases this week. That’s set to soon change though, with both STORY OF SEASONS: Grand Bazaar and the expanded version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land out next week. There’s plenty of new games imminent on the original Switch too, even though this week is a tad quieter …
Nintendo is readying their newest Switch 2 exclusive, Drag x Drive (pronounced Drag and Drive, apparently), launching Thursday at a low price point of £16.99. It’s a futuristic take on 3v3 wheelchair basketball that uses the Switch 2’s mouse functions to wheel around the neon-hued courts. A few different mini-games feature, including a shooting contents …
