The Elder Scrolls V, Skate Story, KIBORG, Terminator 2D: NO FATE, Milano’s Odd Job Collection, and Dunjungle hit the Switch

The Switch eShop is a hubbub of activity this week with the last of 2025’s anticipated releases due. Next week has a couple of releases of note too, including Limited Run’s Tomba 2 re-release, whereas Christmas week currently appears to be little more than a dumping ground for shovelware. Until then, let the good time roll.

Bethesda has surprised us all by releasing The Elder Scrolls V on Switch 2 without pre-release hype. Available for £52.99 or as a free download to existing owners, it sees fasting loading times, improved visuals, club creation items, and the three official expansions.

If you prefer JPRGs, there’s the mouthful that is Romancing SaGa -Minstrel Song- Remastered International from Red Art Games and Square-Enix. This is a HD remaster of a PS2 remake of a SNES game, now translated into numerous European languages. As Rich explained in our review, this isn’t a typical RPG – you need to pick your fights and quests carefully. The 7/10 we awarded it seems to be in line with other site’s verdicts.

the jungle themed Dead Cells alike Dunjungle,

Terminator 2D: NO FATE is finally out this Friday, turning the movie into a pixel art run ‘n gunner with a few scene-based diversions, such as the vehicle-based stages. It comes from the Bitmap Bureau, who gave us Xeno Crisis and Final Vendetta.

KIBORG comes to Switch too, being a roguelike brawler in which you gain new cybernetic parts and choose weapons from a randomised assortment. We enjoyed the Xbox Series version, but would suggest investigating this Switch release before buying – it might be guilty of pushing the ageing console too hard. It’s a shame they couldn’t bring it to Switch 2 instead.

Devolver Digital meanwhile has released the surreal Skate Story to rave reviews, with the Metacritic score currently sitting at 80%. “Skate Story is a beautiful and unique skateboarding game with great, stylized visuals and interesting characters. The movement might make you queasy and the skateboarding element could have been developed further, but it does a lot with its premise and refuses to pander to convention, which is refreshing,” said GamesRadar.

isometric turn-based battler Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Other releases with clout include the viral hit A Game About Digging A Hole – which has over 1,000 overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam – No More Robot’s factory forging Little Rocket Lab for both Switches, the jungle themed Dead Cells alike Dunjungle, Switch 2 releases of Farming Simulator: Signature Edition and the isometric turn-based battler Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, plus the dark story driven top-down RPG Traveler’s Refrain.

A generous portion of retro re-releases are upon us. These include a new version of the 1983 platformer Montezuma’s Revenge, an EGGCONSOLE release of the MSX vertical shooter SUPER LAYDOCK MISSION STRIKER, an Arcade Archives re-release of Konami’s Roc ‘n Rope, a localised version of the relaxed PS1 mini game collection Milano’s Odd Job Collection – which we rather enjoyed – and a re-release of Renovation’s quirky pinball game Dino Land. “The stages are inspired by the Earth 200 million years ago,” reads the blurb.

Then there’s the “Quack-Man Roguelite” Dungeons and Ducklings – which PlayStation Country gave a thumbs up – the turn-based tactical battler Unto Deepest Depths from Flynn’s Arcade, minimalist first person platformer ASCENDANCE UNBOUND, BAOBABS MAUSOLEUM sequel Jacob Jazz’s Tamarindo’s Freaking Dinner, and the inexpensive visual novel BROK: Natal Tail, A New Christmas Special – the second spin-off from Brok: The Investigator, following last week’s Brawl Bar.
