No Man’s Sky enjoys astronomical sales

Chart-Track has compiled a triple whammy of No Man’s Sky facts: it had the second biggest ever PS4 launch behind Uncharted 4, it’s the fastest-selling new IP on PS4, and the fifth biggest IP launch on any Sony platform (behind Destiny, Watch_Dogs, The Getaway and The Last of Us). The Getaway!

It goes without saying that it’s #1 in the UK chart this week, knocking former number one GTA V down to #2.

Overwatch rose one position to #3, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens dropped to #4 and then at #5 it’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Incidentally, Overwatch reclaimed #1 in the Xbox One chart.

Rocket League held onto #6, FIFA 16 fell to #7, DOOM move down one place to #8, Black Ops III dropped to #9 while Minecraft: Xbox Edition remained at #10.

Mario & Sonic: Rio 2016 Olympic Games was the week’s biggest riser, up from #23 to #15, while Pokemon Alpha Sapphire was the biggest faller, down from #17 to #30.

This doesn’t mean Pokemon fever is starting to fizzle out, however, as Pokemon Omega Ruby moved up a single place to #19.
