The Nintendo DS RPG WiZman’s World is being remastered

City Connection and Clear River Games are buddying up to bring back the 2010 Nintendo DS RPG WiZman’s World. Featuring tidy pixel art and turn based battles, it was originally released by Jaleco in Japan.

You play as young wizard Claus, who has just begun exploring dungeons as part of their fledgling spell-casting career. Things aren’t quite what they seem however, as not only has Claus’ mother – his mentor and a mage – recently gone missing, but villagers in their hometown claim to have lost their memory.

Claus isn’t alone in his quest, accompanied by three homunculi who take the form of fairies. By absorbing the souls of defeated monsters, they’re able to evolve into different creatures, gaining new abilities and unique stats. During combat, it’s essential to chain their attacks together.

This remaster has a difficulty level said to be simple yet challenging, and features improved HD visuals, a new UI, wider language options, the ability to save anywhere and skip dialogue, a monster encyclopaedia, and a new game plus mode. Female violinist Saori Hoshino and guitarist ISAO – known together as soLi – have been tasked with creating a new musical score.

WiZmans World Re;Try is coming to PS5, Switch and Steam in early 2026.
