Destiny: The Taken King has landed Activision their first UK number one since Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Despite Bungie’s background the PS4 version came out on top with a 57% share of sales. The rest was split 34% on Xbox One, 7% on Xbox 360 and 2% on PS3.
Positions #2 and #3 are filled by new arrivals too – Forza Motorsport 6 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 respectively. Again, the PS4 version of PES 2016 was the biggest seller. The individual format chart also reveals that the PS3 iteration outsold the Xbox 360 version.
To make way for the new entries Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain falls to #4, while Mad Max drops two places to #5.
Super Mario Maker remains in the top ten for a second week, now at #6. GTA V holds onto #7, Disney Infinity 3.0 falls from #3 to #8, new release Rugby League Live 3 dives in at #9 and at #10 it’s LEGO Jurassic World.
The only other new entry is NHL 16 at #15. Titanfall and Call of Duty: Ghosts have however both re-entered due to Xbox One bundles.
Fast & Furious: Showdown makes an unexpected re-appearance as well, back in at #39. We blame the home release of Fast & Furious 7.
