This week’s UK chart sees Bioshock Infinite claim the top spot for a third week running. With the price starting to fall towards that magical £24.99 mark, chances are it’ll be there next week too.
Chart Track informs that Irrational Games’ sterling shooter managed to outsell Tomb Raider by over 2,500 copies. Lara’s latest holds onto #2, FIFA 13 rises up one place to #3, Defiance drops to #4 and Luigi’s Mansion 2 remains at #5.
Curiously, it’s Tomb Raider that’s at the top spot of the PlayStation 3 chart. Even more curious is this fact about Defiance – 75% of sales were on Xbox 360, 20% on PlayStation 3 and just 5% on PC.
Army of Two: Devil’s Cartel is the week’s biggest faller, dropping from #15 to #29, while after vanishing from last week’s chart The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct returns at #38. We’d wager that’s down to stock shortages rather than word of how bad it is spreading – most retailers appear to be sold out.
Last week’s only retail release – movie tie-in The Croods: Prehistoric Party – fails to make the top 40. Despite being released on all four current Nintendo formats it’s only appearance is a #11 placing in the DS chart. Given the poor reviews, we can’t say we’re terribly troubled by this.
