EAT IT

This Week’s Games

Game have been publishing quite a few exclusives recently (as in, titles can only buy in Game) and this week another two join their growing list – lush looking 2D brawler Battle Fantasia on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and Buffy on Nintendo DS. Battle Fantasia is from the team behind Guilty Gear, so you should know what to expect. Review scores have been around the 70% mark. Buffy? Presumably rubbish.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard piques my interest – it’s a parody of shoot’em ups and videogames in general. It’s also less than full price – currently £25.96 at Amazon. On PSP there’s Patapon 2 while the Wii gets another pricey GameCube update in the form of Mario Power Tennis. Nintendo have been advertising this on TV for the past week or so already, so expect it to sell better than Pikmin has.

Ubisoft have been running TV adverts of Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.K too. It’s an aerial combat game, if you’ve missed out on the press coverage. Reviews have been mostly positive.

The unlikable Army Men franchise also rears its ugly head this week with Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune on both Wii and DS. I think the name says it all…

Next week: Resident Evil 5, Persona 4, MySims Party, Sonic and the Black Knight, Job Island: Hard Working People and a load of budget games from Activision.
