When men in masks attack

I’m not sure what’s going on with Game’s ‘new release’ section – the only version of Call of Duty 4 they list as available from today is the DS one, while last month they totally forgot about PES 2008. It definitely is out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 though, and well done to Activision for getting it out on both formats simultaneously. If you can stomach another first person shooter then go for it – many websites and magazines have claimed it to be game of the year. The DS version should be good too – it’s by the people behind Geist on GameCube.

Looks like there’s a couple of WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 special editions doing the rounds – Play have a ‘Dirty Edition’ with a red t-shirt, calendar and other guff, while Game have a ‘High Flyer’ edition with a different shirt, postcards and guide. I don’t know why it’s only the 360 version that gets these special packs. Again, the DS version looks surprisingly good. It’s in 3D at least.

After last week’s release of Telly Addicts on DS there’s a second helping of Noel Edmunds in the form of a Deal or No Deal game. There’s also another three (yes, three) Mega Man games out, a sequel to Hamsterz – which we actually reviewed and quite liked – and EA Playground which is also out on Wii. Review scores haven’t been too hot for that one – NGamer only gave it 39%. Go for Endless Ocean instead – you can never have enough scuba diving games.

Game also list three new LCD games from Nintendo, including one based on Harry Potter. Odd.
