Cold, hard, James Earl Cash

It would appear that rather than spend a fat wad of cash developing a new Manhunt game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Rockstar are going to knock out Manhunt 2 using current generation tech. The PlayStation 2, PSP and Wii to be precise.

Rockstar’s new London studio are handling the Sony versions, while the Toronto studio have been let loose with the Wii remote. It’s due out in the summer, which suggests that it has been in development for some time already. Hopefully the sardonic voice of ‘the director’ will boom out of the Wii remote speaker.

With Scarface, Mortal Kombat and The Godfather all due on Nintendo’s latest, it would seem that the future of the Wii is redder than anybody originally expected. Perhaps in the rumoured Red Steel 2, Ubisoft will be brave enough to throw some claret around.
