Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade enters the UK retail chart at #2

This week’s UK top ten retail chart sees one new arrival and the surprise return of an older title – and it’s one that also tops the PS5 chart this week.

That new arrival is the Switch 2’s Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, in at #2. Mario Kart World prevented it from securing the top spot, remaining the UK’s no.1 for another week.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons – which is enjoying a resurgence due to the Switch 2 update – fell to #3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe climbed to #4, while Pokémon Legends Z-A moved down to #5.

At #6 it’s good old Minecraft. Then at #7 it’s the return of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition. It seems the PS5 version has been selling well, as it’s no.1 in the PS5 chart.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 dropped to #8, GTA V rose to #9, and at #10 it’s Donkey Kong Bananza – which had recently exited the top ten. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 meanwhile plummeted from #3 all the way to #27.

In the lower end of the chart, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD made a return, presumably due to last week’s surprise Switch 2 update. That’s back in at #33. EA Sports FC 25 and EA Sports FC 26 are currently side by side at #34 and #35, respectively. This means FC 25 outsold FC 26 last week. We assume the older version is discounted somewhere.

EA Sports FC 25 also remains the Xbox Series’ no.1. Dark Souls Trilogy tops the PS4 and Xbox One charts. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the Switch’s no.1. Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition is still no.1 in the PC’s physical chart.

This week’s long running 3DS chart turns over a new leaf, with Animal Crossing at no.1 followed by Metroid: Samus Returns and Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. That means at least one person found a new copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf to purchase last week. Lucky.
