Next-gen only rhythm shooter Metal: Hellsinger has been given a 15th September release date. A demo version is also available now on consoles and PC.
At first glance, it looks similar to other hellish first-person shooters, DOOM Eternal in particular. It plays quite differently, however – shooting to the beat causes more destruction while the music becomes more intense.
The story, narrated by Troy Baker, sees The Unknown fight through Hell to confront The Red Judge – a female entity.
In-game music includes performances by System of a Down’s Serj Tankian, Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Glüz, plus several other artists. Take a look at the trailer below. Earphone warning!
Published by Funcom, it’s due out on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, with console pre-orders granting 48-hour early access. Until then, the demo provides opportunities for high-score chasing through its online leaderboard.
