Although new Switch releases The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, Ring Fit Adventure and Overwatch managed to perform well in this week’s chart, none were able to knock FIFA 20 from the top spot.
In fact, the game which came closest to beating FIFA 20 was the evergreen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which races up the chart to take #2. The Switch Lite has seemingly given the early Switch release a second lease of life.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint dropped to #3, down one position.
At #4 it’s the first new entry – The Witcher III: Wild Hunt on Switch. Well, technically it’s a re-entry due to being a multi-format title. GI.biz reports launch week sales were “almost exactly the same amount†as Skyrim on Switch.
The Wii Fit spiritual successor Ring Fit Adventure made #5 while Minecraft – again on Switch – took #6. Curiously, if sales of all the different iterations of Minecraft were combined it would actually take #2 this week. Thanks again to GI.biz for that titbit.
At #7 it’s another new arrival – EA’s Plants vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville. This comes as a mild surprise given the lack of press coverage. The Xbox One version was also available digitally as an early access release ahead of launch.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening dropped to #8, GTA V held onto #9, and then at #10 it’s Borderlands 3.
Overwatch on Switch parked up just outside the top ten, debuting at #11.
RPG double pack Baldur’s Gate I & II: Enhanced Edition took #34, meanwhile. It isn’t clear which version was the biggest selling, but let’s face it, it was likely the Switch iteration.
