Single screen platformer Go! Go! Mister Chickums sprung into life after developer com8com1 Software cancelled an unannounced game. Our titular hero was originally a sidekick in their abandoned project and has since been cast into the limelight of their very own adventure.
Go! Go! Mister Chickums is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch and PC in April, namedropping Snow Bros. and Bubble Bobble as its inspiration. It can be played solo or in couch co-op and will feature 100 stages in which Mister Chickums must collect stolen eggs while defeating enemies, all of which have their own AI patterns to learn.

Bonus items and secret mechanics will feature, along with global leaderboards on PC. Music is being provided by Zane Little – best known for their Flipnote YouTube videos. Visually, it reminds us of Mayhem in Monsterland on C64, mostly due to its funky wide-eyed cast of characters.
A demo is coming to Steam on 12th February, should you want to see if it’s sunny side up. We imagine the full game will launch just in time for Easter.
