Disco Elysium – The Final Cut, Crysis Remastered Trilogy, The Good Life, Dungeon Encounters, Monster Crown, and Gleylancer hit the Switch

Nintendo fans have been living the good life lately, thanks to a combination of the excellent Metroid Dread and Tetris Effect: Connected, the OLED Switch, and the promise of 60hz N64 games. банки условия дебетовой карты

The good times keep on coming, as this week the Switch gains The Good Life (ho ho!) – a quirky “Debt Repayment RPG” from Swery, the director of Deadly Premonition. A mid-sized open-world packed with bizarre elements is promised. Photography also plays a large part – the female protagonist is a news reporter.

It’s joined by Disco Elysium – The Final Cut, a belated release of the 2020 GOTY contender. Alleged performance issues aside, which will hopefully be patched in the future, it’s reportedly a great conversion – another top-tier RPG to play on the go.

“Overall, Disco Elysium is one of those games I feel like we’re still going to be talking about ten years from now. Technical issues aside, the writing and worldbuilding present in this game lift it high above a lot of the other entries in the genre,” said NWR.

Dungeon Encounters is a very different RPG, taking the form of a pen and paper affair. Very much a case of Square-Enix taking their craft back to its most basic level.

Then there’s Monster Crown, a Pokémon homage with over 200-pixel art critters to collect, even retaining the look of a Game Boy Color game. Nintendo Life was impressed by the combat and breeding system, dishing out a 7/10.

On the more explosive side of things, there’s Crysis Remastered Trilogy – available both digitally and physically. The 1992 Mega Drive shooter Gleylancer also gains a re-release, arriving at a bargain £5.99 with a wealth of improvements. Review incoming!

Others to mull over this week include the former VR exclusive Doctor Who: The Edge of Reality [Update: delayed until 28th Oct], pixel art point ‘n clicker Inspector Waffles, Mon Amour from Onion Games, and Bonito Days – a dreamy combination of NiGHTS and Super Monkey Ball.
