Luigi’s Mansion 3 has become the fastest-selling Switch release of 2019, outperforming Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Mario Maker 2. How’s that for sibling rivalry?
While the hotel-based haunt’em up couldn’t take the UK chart top spot, it did manage to enter at #2, ushering FIFA 20 to #3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remained no.1, of course.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is back on the rise once again, moving up to #4. As revealed during a recent earnings report, the attach rate for the kart racer is incredibly high – almost 50% of Switch owners own a copy. It’s well and truly here for the long haul.
The Outer Worlds dropped one position, now at #5. Then at #6 it’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, enjoying a slight resurgence thanks to a minor price cut.
Ring Fit Adventure continues to perform well, holding onto #7. Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville (#8) is also becoming a sleeper hit, with sales up over last week.
Due to the absence of a new Forza (and arcade racers in general), we have a feeling Need for Speed: Heat – out later this Friday – will be another steady seller for EA.
GTA V re-enters the top at #9; MediEvil falls five places to #10 during its second week on sale.
Minecraft, WWE 2K20, and Gears 5 all depart the top ten this week, meanwhile, with 2K’s glitch-filled grappler going from #3 to #14.
Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King was the only other new release, arriving at a respectable #12. Unsurprisingly, the Switch version took the lion’s share of sales.
