The Division breaks 11 year record

Coming as a surprise to no one, Tom Clancy’s The Division is the UK’s new number one.

The surprise lies within just how well it has performed. Breaking an 11 year record held by Gran Turismo 4, it has become the biggest ever Q1 launch. Or to reiterate, it has outsold all other titles released within the first three months of the year.

It’s also Ubisoft’s fastest selling Tom Clancy title. However, it isn’t the publisher’s biggest launch of all-time – Watch_Dogs and Assassin’s Creed III surpassed it.

Ubisoft claims position #2 in the UK top 40 as well with Far Cry Primal.

At #3 it’s Black Ops III while positions #4 and #5 are held by FIFA 16 and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 respectively.

Positions #6 and #7 remain unchanged, occupied by LEGO Marvel’s Avengers and the ever-popular GTA V.

At #8 – up from #10 – it’s Forza 6. Zelda: The Twilight Princess HD remains in the top ten for another week, albeit at #9. And then at #10 it’s another Ubisoft title – Rainbow Six: Siege.

Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls Collection departs the top ten, dropping to #11.

Fellow recent new arrival Street Fighter V meanwhile leaves the top 20, falling from #11 to #22.

The only other new entry was Hitman at #29. This was in fact the £100+ collector’s edition – the only physical release Square-Enix’s stealth shooter has received so far.
