This week’s Nintendo eShop line-up brings us the second 3DS Pokémon game in the space of a week, with the first being last Friday’s Pokémon Art Academy. You may have already played this one though – it’s a Virtual Console release of Pokémon Trading Card Game.
The Game Boy Color card battler is something of a cult classic, and the announcement that it’s coming to Europe first has rattled the cages of American Nintendo fans. Tell us, guys, how’s Shovel Knight?
We assume that the multiplayer and trading features have been omitted, but £4.49 seems a fair price regardless.
Over on the Wii U’s Virtual Console, Konami’s Pop’n Twinbee will be available from Thursday. The pastel-hued SNES shooter went down well back in the day. With a bit of luck, platforming spin-off Rainbow Bell Adventures isn’t far behind.
A free demo of Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai – from Nano Assault Neo developers Shin’en Multimedia – is also due on 3DS this Thursday. This ties in nicely with the fact that the colourful platformer is being dropped in price to £4.25 until 24th July. It managed to gain a steady string of 7/10s when upon release.
The two NES Remix titles are being dropped in price too. Well, kind of – if you already own one, you can get 30% off the other. This’ll bring the price down to a not-to-be-sniffed-at £6.29.
That’s it for new Nintendo downloads this week. As a reminder though, Wii Sports Club is getting a retail release this Friday at around the £30 mark. It’s only retail release out this week, in fact.
