FIFA 14 due on PlayStation 2 but not Wii U

Just as we predicted under a month ago, FIFA 14 will be appearing on Wii but not Wii U. To add further insult to injury, it’s also being released on PlayStation 2 and PSP. Yes – PlayStation 2.

If last year’s efforts are to go by though, EA won’t be spending a great deal on development time on these versions – expect just a simple kit/fixture update and maybe – just maybe – some new menu music. Consider that a warning in advance.

We’re also hoping EA pays more attention to the PS Vita version this year – football fans were disgruntled to find that FIFA 13 had very few improvements over launch title FIFA Football.

The official list of formats now reads as (breathe in) PC, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii, 3DS, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS and Android (breathe out).

A game in development for twelve formats simultaneously has to be a record of some kind.
