Chart hit by continuing Bioshock and awe

With only a pair of new releases last week, most of the UK chart top five has adopted a holding pattern this week.

Top of the pile for a second week is Bioshock Infinite, despite a 75 percent drop in sales. Tomb Raider stays at #2, FIFA 13 at #4 and Luigi’s Mansion 2 at #5.

Eagle-eyed readers will have noticed a gap at #3 there: that’s filled by the week’s only new entry, Defiance. A quick glance at the individual formats chart tells us that it did best on Xbox 360 – indeed that version was the second best selling title on a single format, behind only the Xbox 360 version of Bioshock Infinite. Incidentally, we’ll have a review of Defiance for you tomorrow.

There’s no trace of last week’s other new release, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, in either of those charts or elsewhere.

After a good start at #6 last week, Army of Two: Devil’s Cartel has dropped well out of the top ten to this week’s #15. News of its mediocrity has clearly spread. That’s not as bad a second week as LEGO City Undercover though: the Wii U exclusive has plummeted from #12 to #32.
