Zombie games – still popular

Considering it’s the first major Xbox–exclusive of the year, it’s not much of a surprise to find that Gears of War: Judgment has claimed the top spot of this week’s UK chart.

What is a surprise though is that Activision’s poorly received The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has entered at #3.

Those two new entries are joined by another – Capcom’s Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate at #7. That’s a combination of the 3DS and Wii U version’s sales. The individual format chart informs that the 3DS version has proven to be the more popular of the two – in that chart it’s in at #10, followed by the Wii U version at a not too shabby #12.

That’s pretty good going, bearing in mind the reports of stock shortages and the small Wii U user base.

Nintendo Land is back in the top 40 as well, albeit at a lowly #39.

With Gears of War: Judgment at #1, Tomb Raider drops to #2. FIFA 13 is at #4 pushing Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 down to #5.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus arrives in the PS Vita chart at #5, while Need for Speed: Most Wanted skids into the Wii U chart at the same position. Then over in the PlayStation 3 chart JRPG Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory makes its mark at #23.
