It’s a Batman double bill

Those who keep an eye on the UK charts will know that this year has seen plenty of shuffling going on for that elusive top position. Even the big name releases have failed to stay at #1 for more than a couple of weeks. That changes today – LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has become the first game this year to remain at #1 for five weeks in a row.

London 2012 stays at #2 but could very well take the top spot next week seeing as the whole shebang kicks off this Wednesday. Ghost Recon: Future Solider is at #3 followed by The Amazing Spider-Man and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

At #6 it’s a new entry – Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. It’s the second most successful 3DS launch of the year so far just behind Resident Evil: Revelations.

Following Square-Enix’s Disney ’em up is Batman: Arkham City, up from #11 to #7. No doubt the release of a certain movie has something to do with that.

The single formats are devoid of all eventful activity apart from Tour de France 2012 entering the Xbox 360 chart at #36. It has only been out for a few weeks but a few of the online retailers have already cut it to around the £15 mark.

And on that note – well done Bradley Wiggins.
