Anarchy Reigns free

The beginning of 2013 is looking incredibly jam packed with Crysis 3, Dead Space 3, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, Aliens: Colonial Marines and X-Com due out.

Now we can add Sega’s Anarchy Reigns to that list too. After putting the Western release on hold, Sega have confirmed that it’s due out Q1 2013. Believe it or not, developers Platinum Games were the last ones to know about the date change.

It’s not all bad news – Platinum Games have revealed on their Twitter feed that the Japanese version – known as Max Anarchy, and due out 5th July – will be region-free.

They’ve also reported that development on the international version is finished, so there’s no need to worry about the Japanese version being inferior to the Western iteration once it finally arrives.

The Japanese version has English, French, Italian, Spanish and Japanese subtitles and audio also.

As the Tweet above points out, they do not endorse importing. That doesn’t mean you can’t, though.

Where to buy? Sadly, your options are limited. Play-Asia and YesAsia have it to pre-order for £57 and £58 respectively. eBay prices are even higher, with pre-order prices coming in at over £70. UK-based gamers should probably keep an eye on both Videogameimports and Genki Video Games to see if they will be stocking it. At least that way you won’t get any surprise import tax fees.
