A Pandora’s box of new releases

Pandora’s Tower is the last of Nintendo’s trio of Wii RPGs. That’s not to say that it’s the last big Wii release – there’s still Epic Mickey 2 to come, and perhaps E3 will reveal something – but it’s certainly one of the last significant releases.

The Metro’s GameCentral claimed that the developer’s lack of experience with the genre shows – it’s by a studio who usually handle One Piece anime tie-ins – but pointed out that there are some fun ideas, such as the main character’s weapon. They ended up giving it a 6/10. Cubed3 liked it a whole lot more awarding it an 8/10 but suggested to try The Last Story or Xenoblade Chronicles first.

There doesn’t appear to be anything else of note hitting stores. Play.com lists a Platinum re-release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior on PlayStation 3 but that’s about it… unless you want us to go into great detail about Little Charlie Bear on DS.

Over in the world of downloads the anticipated Fez is finally out on Xbox Live Arcade, while both PSN and XBLA see the release of the well received 2D brawler Skullgirls. Wii owners on the other hand are treated to Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers complete with online play.

Next week: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings – Enhanced Edition (360, PC), Battleship (PS3, 360, Wii, DS, 3DS), Azada (3DS), Natalie Brooks: Mystery At Hillcrest High (DS) and Cats & Dogs: Pets At Play (3DS).
