There’s no prize for guessing what the UK number one is this week. Even without GAME stocking Mass Effect 3, it has still gone on to becoming this year’s biggest game launch so far and managed to shift more copies than both Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 combined during their launches.
Chart Track also tells us that 73% of Mass Effect 3’s boxed sales were on Xbox 360, although this figure doesn’t count digital downloads on PlayStation 3 or PC.
With Shepherd on the scene SSX drops to #2, followed by new entry Street Fighter X Tekken at #3. PC add-on The Sims 3: Showtime made #6 with the next highest entry being Unit 13 on PS Vita at #15.
Asura’s Wrath didn’t get a look in at all. Quite why Capcom didn’t hold it back until April, when very few big name releases are due out, is beyond us.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D also failed to make the top 40, having to instead settle for #4 in the 3DS chart.
