Even if you’re an American Games Asylum reader you must have caught wind of the News of The World fiasco. It’s a British newspaper that ruined its reputation so badly by illegally hacking people’s mobile phones that they closed themselves down.
The newspaper was no spring chicken – it had been around since 1843 and sold almost 3 million copies a week.
So, which publication does Disney’s Cars 2 feature a quote from on the front of the box? Why, it’s the News of the World who in a typically red top fashion claims it to be “Fantastic…wheel good funâ€.
This isn’t a wrongdoing on Disney’s behalf – it’s a little known fact that boxes for videogames are produced sometimes months before a game is even released.
This can in some instances lead to boxes having screenshots featuring omitted content from the final game, or in this case, a quote from an incredibly detested source.
