Viva la FIFA

This Week’s Games

Believe it or not there are two new PlayStation 2 games out today. FIFA 11 was always a given (even the Mega Drive received FIFA games up until 1998), but movie tie-in Despicable Me is a little bit more of a surprise. If the early reviews are to go by Despicable Me is sadly pretty average. The same can also be said for the Wii and DS versions too

It looks like there are still a few more PlayStation 2 games out before the end of the year, including Lord Of The Rings: Aragorn’s Quest and WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2011.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of FIFA 11 have been scoring well, including an 8 from Eurogamer and a 8.5 from IGN. “At its best FIFA 11 is enormous fun and brilliantly engineered, but in its battle to be more varied and realistic it has lost some of its momentum”, said Eurogamer.

EA’s MySims SkyHeroes is also out this week and it’ll be the first time the series has spread its wings onto Xbox 360. Did somebody say easy achievements?

Finally, there’s Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Predator on PSP. I know that Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy ‘em ups are usually pretty good, but this one has had little press coverage and hasn’t been reviewed yet, so approach it at your own risk.

Next week: Enslaved:  Odyssey to the West, PES 2011, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Front Mission Evolved, Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, Wii Party, World Rally Championship, John Daly’s ProStroke Golf, Rune Factory 2 and Sid Meier’s Pirates!
