Spend It Like Beckham

This Week’s Games

The seemingly brilliant FIFA 10 is out this week, so you can probably guess now what will be #1 in the charts on Monday. The supermarkets are having a price war on this one, with Tesco being the cheapest at £24.97 followed by Asda at £26.71. The DS version isn’t out until the middle of the month from the looks of things.

If you are desperate for a new DS game then worry not – Space Invaders Extreme 2 is out, and it’s only £12.95 at Zavvi. The first one was very good indeed. I have no idea what Amazing Adventures is about, but it’s by PopCap so it might be worth a gander.

FIFA 10 aside there’s something else big out today – the PSP Go! It’s available in any colour you like as long as you only like black and white, for £225. If you buy one and register it between 1st October and 10th October Sony will give you a free downloadable copy of Gran Turismo, which is also out today.

If you haven’t read our reviews yet, medieval RPG Risen on Xbox 360 is an ample time-waster even though it looks a bit rubbish visually while Disney Pixar tie-in Up is heavily influenced by Lego Star Wars and much better than last year’s WALL E game. It’s pretty short and easy though, but you’d probably expect that from a kid’s game.

Anything else? How about Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 2 on PlayStation 3 (now with extra bouncy breasts), the apparently mediocre TMNT Smash Up on Wii and snowboarding sim StokEd on Xbox 360. And no, that isn’t a typo.

Next week: Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Scribblenauts, Spore Hero, Star Wars: The Clone Wars Republic Heroes, Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, NBA 2K10 and the awesomely titled Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman!
