It’s all kicking off

This Week’s Games

If it wasn’t for FIFA 09, this week would be an absurdly quiet one for new releases, with Zubo, SimCity Creator, Phoenix Wright and Dancing Stage SuperNOVA 2 being the only other titles.

Supermarkets are having a mini price-war with FIFA this weekend – ASDA are selling the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions for £29.99, while Tesco are selling it for £32. Blockbusters meanwhile are doing it for £34.99 with a free football and £5 off any other game. The Wii version? Apparently that isn’t out this week.

Zubo is another one of EA’s efforts and I’m surprised by the lack of publicity. It’s by the Burnout developers Criterion and boasts some of the most impressive 3D graphics on the system. When it was first announced EA planned to do a toy line and all sorts, so who knows why they’ve pushed it out with barely a whisper? Could be down to with the game’s quality I suppose…

Next week: Lego Batman, Fracture and Lost in Blue 3.
