Always take the weather Wii-th you

The delayed Forecast Channel is now – NOW! – available on British Wiis. And quite possibly elsewhere, I’m not sure.

It’s got forecasts for a decent selection of towns and cities. By which I mean it’s got Swindon and Reading, which were all I looked for. But that’s not very interesting, is it?

What is a bit of fun is the globe. It’s quite a nice image of the Earth – from NASA, incidentally – displaying basic conditions and temperatures. Darwin is the hottest place at the time of writing – 37 degrees.

More importantly, you can spin the globe around quite fast with the Wii remote. Which is childish fun for literally seconds. In fact, I’d say it’s at least as much fun as the light-up globe I got for Christmas some years ago. Not sure if I specifically asked for it, but I wouldn’t be surprised.

The News Channel is going to have to be pretty special to provide as much entertainment as this. Because that’s obviously what they’re for: to amuse me.
