An intriguing assortment of new releases make their way to the Nintendo eShop this week. If none of these float your boat, a bunch of NES games are being offered at discount prices for NES Remix owners too.

To start us off there’s Neko Entertainment’s Wooden Sen’SeY (£8.00), a traditional platformer set in a “Japanese steam rock world”. The Official Nintendo Magazine handed out 65% back in April. The PC version passed a lot of gamers by, but chances are that it’ll perform a little better on Wii U.

Then there’s Super Toy Cars (£6.99) from Eclipse Games, which likewise was first released on PC earlier on this year. Although it didn’t receive many reviews, the few that can be found online are mostly positive. It’s a ‘table top racer’ similar to Micro Machines and other games of yore, offering local play for 4 players, 12 tracks and 16 different vehicles that each have their own handling models. It looks alright, this.

Also arriving on Wii U this Thursday – the intriguing Master Reboot (£9.99) from Wales Interactive. This first-person exploration game promises both action and horror as you travel around a Soul Cloud – a place where memories are saved forever. It’s your job to piece your life back together. Like we said, it’s rather intriguing.

Not one, not two but three Mega Man games are on their way to Wii U Virtual Console too. Mega Man 5 and Mega Man 6 will set you back £3.49 each, while fan-favourite Mega Man Battle Network will cost £6.29 – the standard price for GBA VC releases.

As mentioned, if you own NES Remix 1 or 2 you’re eligible for some tempting discounts on various NES classics. The Wii U VC releases of Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda can be had for £2.44 until the end of the month. Dr. Mario, Excitebike, Clu Clu Land, Ice Hockey and Urban Champion are down to £1.74.

Over on 3DS there’s just one new release – Mojo Bone’s Siesta Fiesta (£3.99). It looks set to offer a fresh twist on the likes of Break Out, Alleyway et al, with some suitably colourful visuals.

And as for 3DS discounts, Pokémon Link: Battle! falling to £4.49 may be of note to some. Aqua Moto Racing 3D and Snow Moto Racing 3D meanwhile fall to £3.39 while Real Heroes: Firefighter 3D is being reduced £4.49. All of these discounts are available until the end of the month.
