We have to admit that we’re slightly surprised to learn Injustice: Gods Among Us has taken the top spot in the UK chart. It’s the first fighting game to enter at #1 since UFC Undisputed 3, in fact.

Batman and co push Bioshock Infinite down to #2. At #3 it’s a new entry – Fire Emblem: Awakening. With Luigi’s Mansion 2 still in the top ten at #8, the 3DS really is in its stride at the moment.

Tomb Raider falls from #2 to #4 and at #5 Defiance stands bold.

There are no other new entries in the chart, although we do spy Assassin’s Creed III and Gears of War Judgment both leaving the top ten, dropping to #13 and #15 respectively.

It’s fair to say that Dead Island Riptide has a good chance at taking #1 next week, even though the first batch of reviews include 4/10 from both The Official Xbox Magazine and the Metro’s Game Central.
