My Xmas stocking took an arrow to the knee

GAME’s store display raised a smile today.

The collector’s edition of Skyrim, which comes in a huge box due to containing a dragon statue big enough to knock out a whole family of burglars, was marked up with a sticker claiming it to be a “perfect stocking filler”.

A giant’s stocking, perhaps.

Moreover, it’s ruddy seventy quid. In our day a stocking filler was something small and inexpensive like a Hot Wheels car or a small LEGO set. Or coal and dog’s mess, if we’d mostly been naughty that year.
