Ah, The Sun newspaper – always a reliable source of misinformation. According to the ‘red top’ Nintendo have purchased the Doctor Who rights for £10m and plan to have a Doctor Who game out on Wii and DS in time for Christmas.

They’re only partly incorrect – it’s Koch Media who’s handling the game, and not Nintendo.

It’ll feature the new Doctor, played by Matt Smith, and include the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Silurians. Former Doctor David Tennant had this to say: “The video game was quite actively developed, but it’s difficult to nail as the Doctor doesn’t blow things up. He’s not Batman, who goes around smacking people in the head.”
